Technology Lead

Location: Bidadi, Karnataka, India

 

Namdhari seeds was established in 1985 at Namdhari Farms in Bidadi, Karnataka - India. While our journey began with contract seed production for various nations across the globe, our successes drove us to research into developing hybrid crops, pioneering hybrid seed production in India. Today, we produce hybrid seeds that prioritize adaptability, disease resistance and superior consumer appeal.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Agriculture or a Ph.D. in Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology.
  • Preferably 10 to 15 years or more experience in Genomics, DH and Pathology.

Responsibilities:

  • Technology Lead for Genomics, DH and Pathology in planning, executing and concluding regular and special breeding programs for vegetables and field crops.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational tasks within the team, managing staff and resources for Genomics, DH and Pathology.
  • Develop and maintain structures for data delivery, aiding decision-making and communication. Should release have regular MIS reports with analysis.
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of scientists in developing a strategy for incorporating various biotic and abiotic traits in the germplasm.
  • Prepare project reports with detailed insights for leadership decision-making and future research.
  • Participate in product advancement meetings, sharing data and recommendations with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Discovery Breeding, Native Traits, Genetic Project, and Enabling Technologies teams.
  • Support technology integration in germplasm improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, ensuring effective development and delivery of efficient methods, tools, and analyses.
  • Maintain timely communication with stakeholders, ensuring delivery timelines are met with appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop and adhere standards and SOPs for Genomics, DH and Pathology.
  • Manage budgets and team resources in line with business strategy.
  • Supervise daily operations of facilities, including laboratories and greenhouses, and oversee maintenance records.

Critical Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in anther culture, Speed Breeding, and laboratory techniques.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex instructions clearly.
  • Proficient in organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrates creative thinking, initiative, and effective communication both internally and externally.
