HM.CLAUSE is a Business Unit of Limagrain, an international agricultural co-operative founded and managed by farmers. HM.CLAUSE specializes in the breeding, production, and sale of vegetable seeds. Job description

You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to: 

•    Develop and maintain working relationship with area seed producers.
•    Contract seed crops with area growers to meet company release quantity and quality.
•    Assist the grower with crop management, protection and quality issues.
•    Assist and support field production functions, genetic maintenance, shipping and receiving.
•    Develop reports, maintain a field book; communicate with colleagues, Producers, PCAs, and State Ag Inspectors.  
•    Assume a mentorship role within the scope of the position, providing guidance and  direction for colleagues

Competencies  

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strategic Planning and Analysis – Ability to plan actions and analyze results.  
  • Technical Skills – Vegetable seed production experience needed.  Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Access etc.).  Ability to read and write in English; Spanish language fluency preferred.  Strong written and oral communication skills.  International travel up to 15% of the time required.   
  • Interpersonal Skills – Good interpersonal skills needed.  Ability to develop and maintain productive work relationships with various positions within the organization such as breeders, lab personnel, sales and development teams, agronomic production department, inventory management, quality control, plant managers, communications, product management, and technical data teams.
  • Teamwork – Team player with a positive attitude.  Ability to take on a senior role within the scope of the position, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
  • Judgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.  Accepts personal responsibility for task fulfillment and job performance
  • Professionalism – Highly self-motivated individual, with a high level of time management and organizational skills.  Well-organized, committed, accurate and thorough, with attention to detail.  Ability to work independently; self-directed to complete tasks. 
  • Adaptability - Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.  Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.  Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.  Ability to work in a less than structured environment.  
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Ensures work responsibilities are covered.   
  • Dependability - Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner.  

What we expect of you

To be considered, you will need: 

•    BS Agriculture related degree or minimum 5 years experience in vegetable seed production  
•    Ability to read and write in English; Spanish language fluency preferred
•    Ability to operate a windows base computer system and internal software systems
•    Ability to travel domestically (up to 10% of the time)

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be driving cars, trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
