Dear BRS Stakeholder,

Please know that beginning April 5, 2021, all applicants for permits from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) will be required to apply using APHIS eFile.

As BRS transitions to APHIS eFile:

  • Consistent with the SECURE Rule, notifications will no longer be used after April 4, 2021.
  • ePermits will remain available for access to past permits and notifications.
  • Any applications submitted in ePermits through April 4, 2021, will be processed in ePermits. Compliance reports related to these applications must be submitted in ePermits. BRS will reject any applications submitted in ePermits on or after April 5, 2021.
