KWS ist ein familiengeprägtes Unternehmen. Unsere Entscheidungen und unser Handeln sind transparent, verlässlich und nachvollziehbar. Seit der Gründung im Jahr 1856 führen wir unser Geschäft unabhängig und haben uns als verlässlicher Partner für unsere Landwirte, Mitarbeiter und Partner entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette bewährt.
In der Ukraine ist KWS ist seit der Eröffnung unseres ersten internationalen Standortes in Winniza im Jahr 1900 aktiv. Heute arbeiten 169 Mitarbeiter an vier Standorten und als Vertriebsmitarbeiter im ganzen Land für KWS. An unseren Standorten züchten, produzieren und vertreiben wir hauptsächlich hochwertiges Mais-, Getreide- und Zuckerrübensaatgut.
Die jüngsten Entwicklungen und Nachrichten aus der Ukraine sind traurig und verstörend. Wir verurteilen jeglichen Einsatz militärischer Gewalt aufs Schärfste. Unsere oberste Priorität ist die Sicherheit unserer Kollegen und ihrer Familien, und wir tun alles, um sie zu unterstützen. Nähe ist ein zentraler Wert für KWS. Und dies gilt neben unseren Kolleginne und Kollegen und den Menschen in der Ukraine auch für Landwirte und die Agrarwirtschaft in diesem Land.
Daher werden wir die Agrarindustrie in der Ukraine und ihren Wiederaufbau unterstützen. Dies wird durch zusätzliche Investitionen (neue Produktionsanlagen oder Züchtungs- und Versuchsstandorte) oder andere Maßnahmen geschehen, die wir definieren werden, sobald die Situation eine klare Beurteilung und Planung zulässt.
Mit unserem langjährigen Wissen über die Landwirtschaft und unserer Zuverlässigkeit als Saatgutspezialist sind wir ein vertrauenswürdiger Partner für Generationen von Landwirten auf der ganzen Welt. Dies ist unser Beitrag zur wachsenden globalen Nachfrage nach Nahrungsmitteln. Die Sicherung der Nahrungsmittelversorgung ist ein Grundbedürfnis aller Gesellschaften. Saatgut für landwirtschaftliche Nutzpflanzen bildet die Grundlage für die Nahrungsmittelversorgung und die menschliche Ernährung und fällt daher aus humanitären Gründen nicht unter aktuelle Sanktionen gegen Länder. Daher hat KWS im Einklang mit EU- und internationalen Sanktionsregelungen beschlossen, den Betrieb und die Saatgutversorgung von Landwirten und der Zivilbevölkerung in Russland fortzusetzen.
KWS business activities in Eastern Europe
KWS is a company with a tradition of family ownership, and we operate in that spirit. Our decisions and actions are transparent, reliable and comprehensible. We have managed our business independently ever since our foundation in 1856, and we have proven to be a trusted partner to our farmers, employees, and partners throughout the entire value chain.
KWS has been active in Ukraine since we opened our first international location in Vinnytsia in 1900. Today, 169 employees work for KWS in four main locations and as sales representatives throughout the country. In our locations, we mainly breed, produce and distribute high quality corn, cereal and sugarbeet seeds.
The recent developments and news from Ukraine have left us with great consternation and concern. We strongly condemn any use of military force. Our top priority is the safety of our colleagues and their families, and we do everything we can to support them. Closeness is a core value for KWS. And we commit not only to our colleagues and the people in Ukraine, but also to farmers and agriculture in the country.
Therefore, we fully commit to supporting the agricultural industry in Ukraine and its rehabilitation. This will happen through additional investments (new production plants or breeding and trial locations) or other measures which will be defined as soon as the situation allows for a clear judgment and planning.
Our long-term knowledge of agriculture and our reliability as a seed specialist enables us to be a trusted supplier for generations of farmers, regardless of which part of the world. This is our contribution to the growing global demand for food. Safeguarding food supply is a basic need of all societies. Seeds for agricultural crops are not subject to sanctions currently imposed on countries for humanitarian reasons, as they form the basis for food supply and human nutrition.
Therefore, and in line with EU and international sanction provisions, KWS has decided to continue operations and seed supply for farmers and civil population in Russia.
