Seed Science Center welcomes new researcher who is quite familiar with Iowa State

Ames, Iowa, USA
May 2024

The Iowa State University Seed Science Center is thrilled to introduce its newest team member, Jeffrey Williams, who joins as a Research Scientist III. In this role, Jeffrey will play a crucial part in supporting molecular seed quality assurance, a vital aspect of the Center’s operations within the National Seed Health System.

Bringing a wealth of expertise to the table, Jeffrey holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in microbiology, earned from ISU. Prior to joining our team, he contributed his skills and knowledge at the Corteva Plant Diagnostic Lab in Johnston, Iowa.

For Jeffrey, the opportunity to work at the SSC holds special significance. Not only does it allow him to utilize his expertise in a field he’s passionate about, but it also means he can be closer to home, enabling him to spend more quality time with his child.

We extend our warmest welcome to Jeffrey and look forward to the invaluable contributions he will make to our team and the advancement of seed science at Iowa State University.
