Nufarm Limited today announced the appointment of Jonathan Halstead as Regional General Manager for Europe, effective from 1 June 2025.
Mr Halstead brings 17 years' experience in the global crop protection and seeds industry to the role and has a proven track record of driving sustainable growth, operational transformation and customer excellence in complex agricultural markets.
He joins Nufarm from Syngenta, where he held various senior leadership roles in Europe at regional and country level. Most recently, he led marketing, sustainability, government affairs, and strategic partnerships for Syngenta’s European business. Previously, he was responsible for commercial operations across Northern Europe and the Benelux region, successfully reshaping business models, launching innovation-focused portfolios, and strengthening customer engagement.
A seasoned industry leader, Mr Halstead has also represented the sector on multiple industry boards and initiatives at national and European levels.
Nufarm Managing Director and CEO Greg Hunt said welcomed the appointment, saying:

Mr Halstead holds a PhD and an MBA, and he will be based in Cambridge, UK. In his new role, he will join Nufarm’s Executive Leadership Team and report to CEO Greg Hunt.
