Beck’s is pleased to announce the acquisition of a Syngenta corn seed production facility in Phillips, Nebraska. This strategic acquisition reinforces Beck’s commitment to providing high-quality seed and exceptional service to farmers across its growing marketing area, and especially in western corn belt states. The transaction is expected to close on October 31, 2025.

Beck’s and Syngenta have a long-standing business to business relationship cultivated over decades through germplasm exchange, inbred line development, trait introgression, seedstock production, licensing and distribution of traits and germplasm, and seed treatments. “Syngenta is widely recognized as one of the world’s top genetic and trait providers,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s. “As Syngenta focuses their resources on genetic and trait development, and licensing, we can provide production services through the Phillips, NE facility as a way to provide value for farmers and both of our companies for the continued growth we are experiencing”. This acquisition will be Beck’s furthest west production facility and will serve farmers in Nebraska and surrounding states.

Eric Boeck, North America Seeds Regional Director, of Syngenta, expressed his optimism about the collaboration, “This is an excellent opportunity to maximize resources in both organizations with farmers in mind. Employees and contractors currently working at the site will have an opportunity to meet with Beck’s management to discuss a smooth transition to Beck’s. We will focus our production efforts and intensify germplasm and trait development to continue to bring innovation and choice for farmers.”

This acquisition brings significant benefits to farmers, Syngenta, and Beck’s by strengthening efficiencies in seed production and processing capabilities. The Phillips, NE location is ideally situated in a region well-suited for growing high-quality seed corn, ensuring access to premium seed production for farmers in the west.

With this announcement coming prior to the official closing of the deal, both companies will begin to open lines of communications and introductions to begin the relationship building and to ensure a smooth transition at the end of October.
