>> Présentation de la nouvelle variété de riz Japonica de ThaiBinh Seed : TBR16 (Vietnam.vn)

In recent years, the demand for high-quality Japonica rice varieties has been increasing, especially when the domestic and export rice markets focus on delicious, soft rice. This winter-spring crop, ThaiBinh Seed continues to launch a new rice variety called TBR16 - a "newbie" that promises to win the trust of farmers thanks to its good adaptability, stable yield and outstanding quality.

TBR16 is a Japonica variety that is sensitive to heat and can be grown in two crops a year. The rice plant grows strongly, with a moderate height of about 100-105cm, a hard stem, and upright flag leaves, making it very convenient to care for, especially minimizing lodging at the end of the season. This rice variety also has a good tillering ability, beautiful morphology, and is suitable for many areas of land - from lowland to highland.
Under normal farming conditions, TBR16 gives an average yield of 55-65 quintals/ha. If cultivated well, the yield can reach 70-85 quintals/ha.

Not only is the plant strong, TBR16 is also quite cold-resistant, disease-resistant, and especially less susceptible to blast and leaf rollers - diseases common in other Japonica rice varieties.
TBR16 rice has semi-slender grains, beautiful bright color, when cooked, the rice is soft, lightly fragrant, rich in flavor, very delicious to eat. The milling indexes also meet high requirements: the brown rice ratio is from 78-85%, the head rice ratio is high, very suitable for domestic consumption and serving the export market.
Notably, in the demonstration model in Na Phac town, Ngan Son district, Bac Kan province, the TBR16 rice variety has proven its ability to overcome difficulties despite adverse weather conditions such as early-season drought and prolonged cold, the rice still grows stably, has few pests and diseases, and promises a yield of 70-75 quintals/ha, something that not all Japonica varieties can do in the highlands of the Northwest./.
