This season, the East Africa teams have been very active, taking part in some of the region’s most important agricultural fairs and attracting more than 25,000 farmers to our booths. These events created opportunities to showcase improved vegetable varieties, provide technical training, and engage with farmers, agro-dealers, youth, and public-sector stakeholders.

Jinja Agricultural Show (Uganda, June)
Uganda’s largest agricultural fair, with an estimated 10,000 visitors. East-West Seed presented improved vegetable varieties and conducted trainings for farmers and agro-dealers.

Wambugu Fair (Kenya, July)
A leading horticulture event in Central Kenya, attracting around 5,000 farmers. There was strong interest in our tomato and onion varieties, particularly in climate-smart options such as tomatoes and pumpkins. Many farmers requested follow-up training and demo visits in counties including Laikipia, Kirinyaga, and Nyandarua. Youth visitors also showed enthusiasm for the income potential of vegetables grown from EWS seeds. Stakeholders, including extension officers, highlighted the value of technical support at the booth.

Saba Saba International Trade Fair (Tanzania, July)
In Dar es Salaam, East-West Seed introduced the new cabbage variety Maya F1, which generated great excitement among visitors. Click here to watch us being featured on live Television.

Nane Nane Farmers’ Day (Tanzania, August)
Held nationwide, Nane Nane brought together thousands of farmers. In partnership with Knowledge Transfer, East-West Seed trained more than 4,000 farmers on good agricultural practices, including seedling production, responsible pesticide use, pest and disease control, and agro-waste handling. The company was also recognized as Best Seed Company in 7 out of 10 regions.
