Indigo Ag appoints David Nothmann as Global Head of Biologicals

June 10, 2025

Indigo Ag is thrilled to announce the appointment of David Nothmann to lead its Global Biologicals Business Unit; reporting to the CEO, he’ll oversee the product roadmap, commercial operations, and synergy with the company’s Sustainability Business Unit. With more than 25 years of experience in the food and agriculture industries, Nothmann has held leadership roles across start-ups and multinationals, ranging from B2B to B2C companies. At Indigo, he will focus on enabling farmers to improve profitability and soil health through innovative solutions which include Indigo's leading microbial portfolio and the CLIPS platform.

Nothmann has led commercialization strategies across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, and brings unique expertise in customer-centric product development, strategic planning, and go-to-market execution. His leadership has led to major product launches and operational improvements, driving both top-line growth and cost savings. He has consistently delivered strong financial performance and accelerated market adoption of innovative technologies at companies including Unfold Bio, Terramera, Valent (a Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary), Battelle, Monsanto (now Bayer Crop Science), ArborGen, and most recently NoDL Advisors.

“I’m thrilled to join Indigo at a pivotal moment for agriculture,” said David Nothmann, Global Head of Biologicals at Indigo Ag. “The company’s commitment to science-backed innovation and its focus on delivering meaningful outcomes for farmers is essential as they face a variety of global challenges. Indigo is the clear leader to combine biological products with sustainability programs, including carbon credits and sustainable sourcing, and I’m excited to build on this significant upside potential and bring forward solutions that drive profitability, resiliency, and sustainability across global farming systems.”

Additionally, Nothmann serves as an Independent Board Director and Chair at 3Bar Biologics and on the Advisory Boards of AgroSpheres and Quorum Bio. He also serves as an Executive Ambassador for Agriculture Future of America and was a founding member and former president of the Fulbright Academy of Science & Technology.

“David has a very successful track record of bringing innovative and impactful agricultural products to market on a global scale,” said Dean Banks, CEO of Indigo Ag. “His reputation and knowledge of the market are second to none, because of his tireless commitment to farmers' prosperity.”
