State-of-the-art Research and Development Center in Hyderabad, India
RiceTec proudly inaugurated its newly constructed, state-of-the-art Research and Development Center in Hyderabad, India. The milestone event was graced by Princess Tatjana von und zu Liechtenstein, who officially opened the facility alongside Kay Kuenker, Chair of the Board of Directors; Brian Fife, CEO; Dr. Amitabh Mohanty, Global Head of Research and Development; and Ajai Rana, APAC Business Head, together with other board members and RiceTec leadership teams.
The ceremony began with an inspiring address by Dr. Mohanty, setting the tone for a day that honored both tradition and innovation. Guests participated in a traditional puja, a Hindu ritual of offering prayers and symbolic offerings to invoke blessings and auspiciousness, at the main entrance. The ritual was accompanied by the resonant sounds of the Thavil and Nadaswaram, traditional South Indian instruments often played together in temple music. Attendees donned traditional Indian attire to pay homage to local customs. Following the puja, Mr. Rana unveiled a bust of Prince Constantin von und zu Liechtenstein, commemorating his visionary leadership and enduring commitment to RiceTec.
RiceTec leadership addressed employees and partners, underscoring India’s strategic role in the company’s long-term vision and highlighting the Hyderabad center as a hub for innovation and product development. Princess Tatjana expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the family’s commitment to advancing agricultural innovation. Board Chair Kay Kuenker emphasized collaboration with growers, noting that “even the best products require strong partnerships and a deep understanding of farmers’ needs.” She also welcomed Duraiswami Narain, newly appointed Board Member from India, whose expertise will help shape regional strategies.
CEO Brian Fife shared his excitement about engaging with the India team, stating, “Work is truly rewarding when we unite as a team, combining our knowledge and experience to achieve shared success. Everything we do is driven by our commitment to serving the needs of farmers and our stakeholders,” Ajai Rana concluded by commending the project team for their dedication in transforming a modest beginning into a world-class research facility.
The Hyderabad R&D Innovation Center stands as a powerful testament to RiceTec’s unwavering commitment to excellence and its promise to deliver sustainable, high-impact solutions for growers worldwide.
