From 22 to 25 September, Bejo will be opening its doors in Warmenhuizen for its annual Open Days. During these days, visitors will have the chance to discover the latest Bejo varieties and there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges within the sector.

New varieties
Together with customers and business partners, Bejo is constantly researching current developments in the field, the market and among consumers. These insights form the basis for the development of new and improved vegetable varieties, enabling growers worldwide to harvest healthy and tasty vegetables. The demo fields feature varieties with a focus on disease resistances, improved storage quality, higher yields, taste and strong resilience in the field.
Innovative vegetable concepts
During the Open Days, Bejo will present various innovative vegetable concepts that respond to the demand for flavour, health and convenience. The focus will be on the red pointed cabbage ‘Red Power’, the versatility of carrots and a wide range of snack vegetables, such as carrots, kohlrabi and celery. Bejo will demonstrate how breeding and market insights come together in varieties that create value for the entire chain. By invitation only, the exclusive carrot symposium ‘Together, we shape the future of carrots’ will also take place, discussing the latest developments and opportunities within the carrot sector.
Guided tours and demonstrations
During guided tours of the Seed Processing Facility and the Research Centre, visitors will gain an insight into the world of breeding, seed treatment and technology. The Seed Research Expo offers visitors in-depth insight into current topics in seed research, such as seed quality, seed treatment and pollination. Bejo beekeepers will talk about bee health and bee research activities. Demonstrations of innovative sowing, harvesting and weed control techniques will take place on the demo fields provided by various suppliers to the agricultural sector.
