Enza Zaden invests in IUNU to strengthen connection between genetics and crop performance
Strategische investering in IUNU - Verdieping van de bestaande samenwerking

>> Strategische investering in IUNU - Verdieping van de bestaande samenwerking

Enza Zaden has made a strategic investment in IUNU, deepening its existing collaboration with the company.

LUNA, IUNU’s platform, combines AI and computer vision to autonomously track plant development and turn objective crop measurements into operational insight. The investment reflects a shared conviction that strong genetics establish crop potential, while growing strategy and day-to-day execution determine how much of that potential is realized in commercial production.

Strong varieties are the starting point, but their value is ultimately realized in the greenhouse,” said Jaap Mazereeuw, CEO of Enza Zaden. “Our work with IUNU provides a more objective view of how crops develop and how varieties perform in practice. This investment gives us a foundation to deepen that work and explore new ways to help growers realize more of each variety’s potential.”

Building on the existing collaboration, Enza Zaden and IUNU plan to explore how Enza Zaden’s genetic and crop expertise can be combined with IUNU’s continuous crop measurement to better connect genetics, crop strategy and crop performance in practice.

The value of this investment will be measured by the practical outcomes it creates for growers,” said Dirk Neelis, CFO of Enza Zaden. “IUNU adds an additional layer of crop insight that can help growers better understand and manage crop performance in practice.”

Plants are the ground truth,” said Adam Greenberg, CEO of IUNU. “Growers need to know whether a crop is tracking to plan and where development is beginning to diverge from strategy. IUNU creates that objective record at a commercial scale. Together with Enza Zaden, we can shorten the distance between genetic potential and greenhouse performance.”

As part of this minority investment, IUNU maintains its independence to serve growers and partners across the horticulture industry.

About IUNU

IUNU is the company behind LUNA, an AI and computer vision platform built for commercial greenhouse operations. LUNA autonomously tracks plant development and helps greenhouse teams connect objective crop measurements with crop registration, forecasting, labor planning, and daily operating decisions. By giving growers a consistent view of how the crop is performing against plan, IUNU helps teams identify risk earlier, improve execution, and scale with greater confidence.
