Agreement on soybeans seed pre-treated with inoculant and fungicides between Sursem, Nitragin abd BASF
Argentina
November 16, 2011
As a result of a cooperation agreement signed among the three parties, Sursem will offer soybeans seed pre-treated with inoculant and fungicides with a 90 days shelf life to its customers. This value proposition will allow growers to obtain a better planting of the crop as well as an easier handling of the seeds.
The inoculation and treatment is done in specialized Treatment Centers that Nitragin and Basf manage in the main Argentine soybean area. The treatment consist of the controlled application of Nitragin inoculant and Acronis fungicide (Pyraclostrobin + Methyl thiophanate) under a completely automatized process monitoring each batch under strict quality standards. This treatment is the only one approved by Senasa (local regulation authority) that allows 90 days of lead time prior to planting.
Treated seed will have a better germination and the crop will have a higher plant stand and reduces the exposure of growers to the handling of agrichemicals.
As informed by Sursem, the treatment will be done to the new varieties the Company is launching this year to the marketplace: SRM 3300, SRM 4370, SRM 4500 y SRM 5001.
