Monsanto Canada's Dekalb brand launches mobile website for Canadian farmers

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
October 10, 2012

The DEKALB brand in Canada has launched a new mobile website at www.DEKALB.ca/mobile.

This new mobile site will enable users, including farmers, dealers and agronomists to quickly find real-time information from anywhere.

"It is imperative that our customers stay up to speed with information on products, services, agronomic information, weather forecasts and market information," said Denise Hockaday, DEKALB marketing manager. "The new site is another way Monsanto can provide additional services to its customers."

The new DEKALB mobile site takes the most relevant and useful information from Monsanto's main website and optimizes it for viewing on the small screen of a smart phone. It means customers no longer have to try to scroll through the main Monsanto website on their phone, or go into their office to find a piece of information. On the new mobile site it's right there, without the clutter. It's even customizable based on postal codes.

Mobile websites are designed to automatically detect whether a visitor is using a mobile device and seamlessly adjust the content format for smartphones. The site is not like an application which needs downloading, but rather is a cross-platform website built for smaller screens.

The DEKALB mobile site includes information for farmers such as the latest agronomic alerts, products and yields as well as dealer and representative locators, commodity prices and weather information. Materials are available on both corn and soybeans as well as in French and English. It also compliments the DEKALB brand's line of mobile applications including the popular yield estimator and plant population calculator, both of which are easily downloadable from the site.
