Wintersteiger is growing steadily, a fact likewise reflected in the company buildings: After 11 months of construction time, a new building was erected at the site in Ried and a modern logistics center in St. Martin.
Moreover, the "Just-in-Time" production method introduced in 2010 presented new challenges to logistics – processes had to be sped up and material flows had to be optimized. The necessary structures for efficient processes have been created with the new logistics center in St. Martin im Innkreis, some 12 km from the company headquarters in Ried.
In terms of logistics, it is important to improve the level of service concerning delivery date and quality, and to increase customer satisfaction. At the new logistics center, goods are stored over an area of 7,500 sqm and dispatched from there in a state-of-the-art manner. An optimized pallet warehouse ensures that frequently required goods are stored at lower levels and manual picking is intentionally allowed. Unique allocation is made possible by an integrated barcode labeling of both the stock and the storage area. WINTERSTEIGER delivers some 500,000 articles per year – all over the world.

For the new building in Ried, already during planning the emphasis was placed on an infrastructure that supports the workflow and communication. Thus, a maximum number of workplaces were built above the new assembly hall in order to make the routes between the offices and manufacturing as short as possible. Both the factory and the office areas feature the latest aspects of building services engineering:
- daylight-dependent lighting control
- office areas in the "Open Office Concept": as few partitions as possible in conjunction with acoustic measures, communication areas inside and outside the team areas
- air conditioning with active fresh air intake
