Ankara, Turkey
November 21, 2013
ECO Regional Seed Association, ECOSA, aimed to work on the improvement of seed trade in ECO region and help to the regional seed sector to be integrated to the global seed sector. ECO region encompasses 10 member countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey).
To realize the aim of ECOSA, Regional Seed Trade Conferences have been organized since 2009 with the help and collaboration of ECO Secretariat, FAO, ICARDA, ISF, OECD, ISTA, UPOV, Turkish Seed Union and Turkish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. The sixt conference, again will be organized in Istanbul in between 10-12 January 2014 along with Turkish Seed Fair.
Conference participants will come from the private sector (seed companies, agricultural input suppliers, and seed equipment manufacturers), public sector, international/regional/national seed trade associations and international/ regional development organizations working on seeds. There are many companies and organizations showing interest in the conference to find new partners in a region which has not been explored for seed trade until late 2000. It is our duty, as the global seed sector, to help to improve the environment in ECO Region for a globally integrated regional seed sector.
By using this opportunity, I cordially invite you to open new doors in your trade to join “ECOSA Regional Seed Trade Conference” that will be held in Istanbul in between 10-12 January 2014.
I hope to see you in Istanbul
With my best wishes
Dr. Mete KOMEAGAC
Chair of ECOSA
