In 2011 Xenolim, an anthocyanin-free hybrid, was added to Limgroup’s wide range of green asparagus varieties. Xenolim is unique in the world in that it combines the characteristics of 100% male and 100% anthocyanin-free. 

Anthocyanin-free green asparagus is most popular worldwide in Germany. The acreage is now around 1200 hectares and increases steadily every year.

Anthocyanin-free green asparagus is optically remarkable; the bright green colour of the stem and scales gives the product a distinctive appearance. 

Xenolim offers growers a variety that yields a good 25% more than the present standard varieties. On top of this high yield potential, Xenolim has amply proved in practice that it has excellent quality characteristics, in particular tightly closed tips.

The combination of good quality and high yields makes Xenolim a profitable variety for today’s growers.
