New Zealand - Consultation on the proposed amendments to the importing requirements for cucurbitaceae seeds for sowing

New Zealand
April 13, 2016

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have released the draft Import health standard schedule for Cucurbitaceae seeds for consultation.

This cucurbitaceae schedule will replace the current version and is now available on the MPI website, along with the Risk Management Proposal (RMP), for comment:

MPI is formally consulting on the proposed import requirements for cucurbitaceae seeds. The RMP provides the technical justification for the continuance of measures introduced on the 1st December 2014 for Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) and the addition of measures for Kyuri green mottle mosaic virus (KGMMV) associated with imported Cucurbitaceae seed from all countries.

From 13th April 2016 to 10th May 2016 the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) invites comment on proposed changes to the:

Phytosanitary measures for CGMMV and KGMMV for importation of Cucurbitaceae seeds from all countries in the Import health standard 155.02.05: Seeds for Sowing.

Consultation closes at 5pm Tuesday, May 10th 2016.
