Inauguration of the ISTA Member Seed Testing Laboratory and Seed Processing Plant of ICAR's Indian Institute of Seed Science in Mau

During his visit to ICAR-IISS, Mau; Dr. T. Mohapatra, Hon’ble Secreatary, DARE and Director General, ICAR inaugurated and dedicated the ISTA Member Seed Testing Laboratory and Seed Processing Plant of ICAR-IISS, Mau on 13th August, 2016 to the farming community of the region.
Dr. S. Rajendra Prasad, Director apprised the distinguished guests with the functioning of seed processing unit.
Speaking to the media persons on the occasion, Dr. Mohapatra elaborated upon the importance of seed processing facility for the farmers of the region and hoped that it would further bolster the quality seed production initiative in the region.
He also talked about the various schemes and programmes being implemented by the central government and ICAR in particular for farmers welfare. Dr. Mohapatra was accompanied by Dr. J.S. Chauhan, ADG (Seed), ICAR, New Delhi and other ICAR Officials.
A large number of farmers were also present in the ceremony.
