Inauguration of the new Petkus Fine and Vegetable Seed Technology Centre in Zwaagdijk, Netherlands

Analysing seed samples; evaluating coating machines’ settings; developing customized treatment recipes; support in seed conditioning issues – the list of service is comprehensive. The new PETKUS Fine and Vegetable Seed Technology Centre in the so-called Dutch Seed Valley (Appelmarkt 9a, 1681 PE Zwaagdijk) closes the gap between technology and practical application. The service & support approach of the centre is unique in the business.
The official opening ceremony took place on the occasion of the SMT fair in September with more than 50 invited international guests, spanning the seed industry and breeding globe from Thailand to France. “The concept is highly appreciated by the industry representatives and by our clients. We got a fantastic feedback”, said Lukasz Patyk, Seed Coating Technology Manager and Head of the new Technology Centre. “There is a lot of interest in doing tests together with us.” The day after the inauguration, the new Technology Centre was still a centre of attraction for various stakeholders.
Seed companies want to see the PETKUS MultiCoater “CM” series in operation and develop coating technology solutions. Seed coating and plant protection product manufacturers want to test their product performance on this innovative machine. Clients look forward to get customized support and individual solutions. With opening the Technology Centre, PETKUS opens the door for transparent and reliable technology testing for its clients.
This unique and broadened services will be substantiated by a team of experts which will give support in all questions of seed coating technologies. The inauguration was the opportunity for Mark Scholze, CEO of PETKUS Technologie GmbH, to introduce the core team. Lukasz Patyk, Coating Technology Manager, supports clients regarding seed coating recipe development, coating quality assessment and training in coating technologies with a focus on vegetable and fine seeds. Ko Oud, Senior Seed Technologist, is responsible for customized recipe development, laboratory analysis and trials, smart service and on the spot support for optimal treater adjustment. Dr. Yvonne Staate, Manager Chemical Processes, is an expert in process engineering with special qualifications in fluid mechanics and multiphase flows and will design special chemical delivery systems.
