The review committee published its report with the findings about the business units of Wageningen Plant Research. In the next months a full implementation plan will be presented based on the findings and recommendations.
All Business Units were assessed on the following: quality, impact and viability.
The commission highly valued the quality, enthusiasm, professionalism and working methods of WPR. Important challenges are related to continuity and consolidation.
Wageningen Plant Research has an excellent national and international reputation, plays a significant role in the knowledge chain and contributes to the Wageningen ‘brand’. There is a good relationship between the current needs of society and industry and political and public involvement. The strong interaction with the private sector greatly multiplies the impact.
The committee believes that all Wageningen Plant Research employees can be proud to be part of this organization. According to the committee, research and employees of Plant Research are actively contributing to ‘being the leader in plant science for a sustainable and healthy world’.

Visitatiecommissie lovend over Wageningen Plant Research
Eind december 2017 heeft de visitatiecommissie haar bevindingen over de business units van Wageningen Plant Research gerapporteerd. Vanuit de bevindingen en aanbevelingen volgt in de komende maanden een implementatieplan.
Alle Business Units zijn beoordeeld op de onderdelen kwaliteit, impact en levensvatbaarheid.
De commissie is zeer lovend over de kwaliteit, het enthousiasme, de professionaliteit en de werkwijze binnen Wageningen Plant Research. Uitdagingen liggen er op het gebied van continuïteit en consolidatie.
Wageningen Plant Research staat (internationaal) hoog aangeschreven, vervult een belangrijke rol in de kennisketen en draagt bij aan het ‘merk’ Wageningen. Er is een goede relatie tussen de behoeften vanuit de maatschappij en industrie en betrokkenheid vanuit politiek en publiek. De interactie met de private sector zorgt voor verveelvoudiging van de impact.
De commissie meent dat alle medewerkers van Wageningen Plant Research trots mogen zijn om onderdeel te zijn van deze organisatie. Volgens de commissie dragen onderzoek en medewerkers van Plant Research daadwerkelijk bij aan ‘being the leader in plant sciences for a sustainable and healthy world’.
